POP OF CORAL

Separator

I have been so excited to post my favorite jacket from Mason Scotch. As I have said before, they are one of my favorite brands.  I love that I can wear something as simple as jeans and a tee and still look stylish because of my jacket.  I also like to mix things up by adding leopard sandals.... It's the unexpected details that help to complete the outfit.

Stripes and Polka Dots

Separator

It seems as though it starting to get a bit warmer here (finally!)  As it gets warmer I get more inspired to mix and match.  I always love the classic combo of stripes and polka dots today paired with red pumps.

My sister is getting married!

The invites.
Quick and easy way to make invitations!  I crated my invite on the computer and printed them on brown  craft paper.  I then cut a mint color cardstock to back the invite.  I finished off the look with a little bit of gold glitter because how can you have a party without glitter?!

The set-up.
The tables set up in the backyard were covered with lace table cloths and spider mum flowers.
Gold chargers add a bit of class to an otherwise laid-back affair.  I also prefer to use my own dishes and silverware rather than paper or plastic.  I suggest investing in white dishes as they seem to fit any occasion.

The food.
We had an array or Quiches, fruit kabobs, yummy cupcakes and a beautiful cake. The cake was created by the same bakery that will be creating the wedding cake.  It was one of the most delicious cakes I have had in a long time!

Cheers.
I must admit I saw this idea on pinterest (follow me for all of my great finds).  I love the idea of the mimosa bar with different fruits to accompany your bubbly drink.  I also mixed up the juices with flavors like Orange-Strawberry-banana.  The drink table was a hit!

Sisters.
My sisters and I.  Colette is in the middle and also the bride-to-be.
We had a great day of celebrating!

Glittery

I am a firm believer that every girl should have some piece of sequins hanging in her closet. One of my own favorites is this skirt from All Saints.  I love that sequin can be dressed up or down, for work or play.

In the spirit of Fashion Week

Separator
In case I need to be ready to jet off to New York or Paris for Fashion week I want to make sure I am prepared with that I might wear.  Here are a few of my must haves:

1. I believe in always adding a bit of shine to your look, I love the perfect amount of jewels on this Jacket by  Elizabeth and James

2. You can never go wrong with stripes, such a great investment tank by Enza Costa

3. I have loved these Paige leather leggings since the day I laid eyes on them

4. Amazing, need I say more?  Peep Toes by Maison Martin Margiela

5. For those of you who know me, you know I rarely leave my house without something animal print.  This Leopard cell case by Jagger Edge is just enough for this outfit

6. A bright clutch can add just the right amount of color to a somewhat dark outfit.
Clutch by  Alexander Wang

7. I love my gold accessories so this gold hammered ring would be my first choice for statement ring.  Ring by Mara Carrizo Scalise

Pastels

The smell of Spring in the air (not to mention the 75 degree weather) has also inspired my current love of pastels.  Not only will pastels will play a big part of my Spring wardrobe but make their way into my home as well.  I am loving how well all of the colors play off each other.
Bring on Spring time!!!

Chilly Days

While it is still a bit chilly outside (I mean chilly for CA standards) I pulled out my favorite parka that I rarely get to wear.  I figure I get a few cold days a year I better take advantage of them!!

Golden Globes

Separator
Nevermind the winners at this year's Golden Globes, it was all about the fashion.... As it should be.  Some of my personal faves:

This one surprised me a bit. Although, I love her on the tv show Smash I did not think she would be a front runner in my book.  One of my favorite brands as well, this Theysken's Theory Dress was a great pick for her. The Way to go Katharine!

Jennifer Garner is one of my favorites because she always looks so classy and this Vivienne Westwood Couture dress is no exception.

No brainer, when Does Jessica Alba ever look bad.

Ok, so I might be bias here because Nashville is my new obsession but I think Hayden looks better than she ever has in Roberto Cavalli gown!

Who topped your list of best dressed this year?

Hometown Visit

Separator

I try to get back to my hometown (Visalia, Ca) as often as possible because I still have family there.  I also love that I can find the best antiques!  I don't know what it is about small towns, but I always have the best luck finding those hidden gems.

While in town I also make sure to stop by Embellish and Restore a great little shop where they sell repurposed furniture and accessories.  My Dad also sells some of his handcrafted pieces here so I can hardly wait to shop and stake my claim on what it is I might want.... It must be hard to make a profit when you have a daughter like me.

This last piece was hand painted by my Dad!

Happy Shopping

Is It Spring Yet?

Separator
Since it is January, I am starting to feel the Spring itch.  Although I find it much easier to dress for Fall or Winter, I am always inspired by the bright colors of Spring.  Living in Southern California, Spring (or sunny days) will be here before I know it!

Resolutions

Separator

With 2012 at a close, it is time for some New Year's resolutions.
It always seems so hard to keep a resolution so I figure if I write them down, I will be more likely to keep them. Right?!?

One.
My first resolution is to try to get to places on time.  I am always running late and it a really bad habit to have.  I figure if I had a nice new watch, it would help me be where I need to be when I need to be there.
Michael Kors Watch

Two.
As quoted by the great Karl Lagerfeld,

“Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants.”

This year I vow to dress nice for very occasion including work.  I always try to look my best wherever I go but there are some days that just seems impossible.  Those days I will quote the above over and over and over....

Three.
Finally, I would like to travel to places I have not yet visited.  I plan to convince the hubby to travel this year and experience what this great world has to offer.

What are you vowing to do this year?
